Dr. Sherry Cooper is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with twenty years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked with a variety of populations in multiple settings to include the community, schools/university, outpatient and inpatient.
Dr. Cooper has a passion for learning about the ways in which people engage with others. Relationships and connections are very important to society. In therapy Dr. Cooper is client centered. She helps clients to recognize their strengths and use those strengths meet their personal therapy goals. She is non-judgmental, empathetic and encouraging in therapy sessions. Therapy with Dr. Cooper is a safe place for growth and challenging one’s self.
Dr. Cooper takes a holistic view to mental health. Mental health encompasses emotional, psychological, and social well-being and all of the things that impact them. So don’t be surprised when Dr. Cooper asks you about your diet, sleep, relationships, work, and other things that impact your day-to-day functioning. All of those things impact your mental health and will be addressed in therapy.
Dr. Cooper has a BS in Psychology from Old Dominion University, MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Amridge University and PsyD from California Southern University. She completed her doctoral internship and fellowship in neuropsychology.
