Frequently Asked Questions

How much will my co-pays be?

Copays can vary depending on your insurance plan. For most patients with commercial insurance, copays tend to fall in the $20-$40 range per provider encounter. Patients with Medicaid generally have zero dollar copays. These copays typically apply to your initial evaluation, 1-on-1 therapy sessions, and follow-up appointments with a prescriber.

To give you the most reliable cost estimate, we'll contact your insurance provider during your free consultation and let you know your specific copays before you begin the Noma program.

What is the estimated total program cost for a patient with insurance?

The cost of the program can vary depending on your specific insurance plan. Here's a breakdown to help you get a general estimate:

Estimated costs for patients with commercial insurance:

  • Therapy: 7 sessions * $30 copay = $210

  • Prescriber consults: 5 consults x $30 copay = $150

  • Ketamine dosing sessions: 4 sessions x $90 per dose = $360

  • Estimated total cost: $720

Estimated costs for patients with Medicaid:

  • Therapy and prescriber consults: Fully covered, with zero-dollar copays

  • Ketamine dosing session: 4 sessions at up to $90 per dose = $360.

  • Maximum cost: $360

Estimated costs for patients without insurance

  • $3,560 (assumes 18 therapy and prescriber consults, and 4 ketamine dosing sessions)

  • We will provide you with a superbill so that you can seek out-of-network reimbursement.

These are just estimates, and we will contact your insurance company for a precise estimate prior to your starting the program.

What if I have a deductible?

Some insurance plans have a deductible, which is a fixed amount you must-pay out-of-pocket for covered services each year before your insurance plan starts contributing to the cost.

As part of your free consult, your guide will determine if you have a deductible and give you an accurate estimate of your cost to complete the Noma program.

Please keep in mind that you will only receive reimbursement if your health insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, such as a PPO and have met any applicable deductible.

Does insurance cover the full cost of Noma's program?

Noma offers an integrated program that combined ketamine therapy with 1-on-1 psychotherapy and medication management. Our program is specifically designed for long-term improvements in mental health conditions such as treatment-resistant depression, anxiety and PTSD

Insurance covers the cost of the psychotherapy and medication management. However, it does not cover the cost of the ketamine itself. Noma uses a generic, sublingual form of ketamine, known as rapid dissolve tablets (RDTs). While insurance companies do not cover this form of ketamine, it is very affordable. Noma charges $90 per dose, with a standard program consisting of 4 doses (total cost of $360).

Insurance policies vary, and some companies do cover forms of ketamine that Noma does not provide, such as FDA-approved Spravato and off-label ketamine delivered by infusions (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injections. These forms of ketamine require patients to travel to an office to receive in-person care.

Can I use my FSA/HSA Account?

Yes, you can pay for Noma's ketamine treatments with your FSA or HSA accounts.
